Team Spirit at Ocean Place Resort and Spa

Some spring days are spent on the outdoors, in the park, or even on friend's deck, enjoying the sunshine and a crisp breeze. And sometimes you're indoors, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. This past May TeamUnity had the pleasure of orchestrating a Team Spirit Olympic program for Philips out at Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, NJ. Originally, the event was planned to be outdoors, but due to inclement weather the program had to be moved. We were ready with a different set of games, and much like those who could not spend the day out on the patio, we held the program indoors. With over 200 people, no less.

Our Team Spirit Olympics is a program where we can safely say we keep all of the participants engaged in every activity. Players go from station to station, testing their mettle in a variety of activities, more of which you can learn about here. Cheers, jeers, and laughter can be heard all over the room as players attempt to climb to the top of the rankings.

However, sometimes it can be a bit daunting to keep this energy contained, especially if there are a lot of people in a smaller space.

TeamUnity's Senior Account Executive, Merlene Wilder, CMP had this to share regarding the challenges of having this event in a smaller than usual space.

"It certainly was a challenge to fit so many people in such a small space. Thankfully all the planners and staff managed to work together to create an atmosphere and an experience that not only met expectations, but exceeded them as well."

She goes on to say:

"I was also happy to see everyone participating as much as they were. It was nice to see that all of our games were accessible to everyone at the event. It's just a shame we couldn't be out in the sun!"

Regardless of the challenges that presented themselves, TeamUnity, Philips, and Ocean Place managed to come together to create a memorable event full of laughter, competition, and maybe a stray Blongo Ball or Fling Ring here and there.

Looking forward to more good things to come.
